Diamond Conference 2002: Industry Toasts Canada's Multi Billion
Dollar Discoveries
All
the movers and shakers in the global diamond business congregated
in Vancouver, Canada in June for the 2002 World Diamond Conference.
As Canada has catapulted from a standing start in 1998 to
becoming the sixth largest diamond producer in the world last
year, the subject of Canada's emergence as a diamond producing
powerhouse was a hot topic. Indeed, Canada already hosts the
three richest diamond deposits in the world. And by 2005,
it is projected to overtake South Africa to become the world's
second most prolific producer of high-end diamonds.
Accordingly,
Robert Boyd, the President and CEO of Ashton Mining of Canada,
was called upon to give a presentation on Canada's glittering
future as a fertile territory for more world-class diamond
discoveries. Ashton Mining is at the forefront of the race
to find the next multi-billion dollar diamond mine and is
a key subsidiary of the planet's largest mining company, the
Rio Tinto Group.

presentation on what Canada has achieved to date and why investors
can still get in on the 'ground floor' of Canada's emerging
and historic Diamond Rush.
